If documents go to the wrong printer, verify the application destination and Windows default setting. A working printer can look broken when an old or virtual queue is selected.
Check the app first
Open the print dialog and read the destination. A PDF writer, duplicate printer or offline office queue may be selected even when the intended printer is installed. Choose the exact device for a one-page test.
Set a stable default
In Windows Printers & scanners, select the desired printer and set it as default. If Windows manages the default printer automatically, review that preference when the default keeps changing. Use the full model label and connection, not only the icon.
When the test still fails
A Windows test page from the intended printer separates selection from connection or driver trouble. If it fails too, inspect queue, port and on-device status rather than repeating default-printer changes.
