If local scanning works but scan-to-email fails, the scanner hardware is probably not the first problem. Check the destination account and the maker's supported mail setup without exposing credentials.
Separate scan from delivery
Make a local scan or copy. If that succeeds, read the exact scan-to-email error on the printer or official app. It may concern authentication, network access or a changed mail-service setting.
Check supported setup
Use the exact model's official scan-to-email guide and your mail provider's current requirements. A provider may require an app password or OAuth flow; do not assume a normal account password is valid in the printer.
Protect credentials
Never paste a mailbox password or scan-to-email configuration into PrinterHelp. On an office printer, ask IT to check approved SMTP settings. Avoid weakening TLS or opening network ports as a first attempt.
