Ghosting is a faint repeat of printed content elsewhere on a page. Confirm it appears on a printer-generated page before blaming the document or replacing toner.
Separate file from printer
Print an internal quality page and a simple text page. If only one application or file shows the repeat, inspect that file's layout and print settings first. If the internal page repeats, follow the exact model's laser-quality guide.
Check user-accessible factors
Use paper type and weight listed by the maker, and inspect the displayed toner or drum status. Toner and imaging drum are separate on many Brother models; a repeated image is not automatic proof which one is at fault.
Stop at service parts
Do not reach into a hot fuser, bypass covers or buy a replacement assembly from a generic diagnosis. Use model-specific official service if the approved quality checks fail.
