Faded output can come from draft settings, paper mismatch, low ink or toner, or a printer-side quality problem. Compare a built-in page with the original document before buying a part.
Print a device page
Run the model's own print-quality or status page. If it is clear while the document is faded, inspect the application and Windows printing preferences, including Draft or Toner Save and selected paper type.
If the device page is faded
Read the exact cartridge or toner status and follow the maker's model-specific quality sequence. Inkjet nozzle checks and laser toner/drum checks are different procedures. Use a cleaning cycle only when the official manual recommends it; repeated deep cleaning can waste ink.
Replacement decision
Match the complete OEM number and model only after the diagnostic points to a consumable. A nominal page yield is not a guarantee of the pages remaining in your cartridge.
