Double Printing or Duplicate Pages: Find the Cause

Two copies of one job can come from a repeated submission, application copy setting or stuck queue. A doubled image on one sheet is a print-quality symptom and needs a different check.

Two sheets or a shadow?

Count the physical pages. If the printer emits two sheets, check the application's copy count, a second computer or phone sending the same job, and duplicate entries in the queue. If one sheet has a faint second image, use the ghosting guide instead.

Run a controlled test

Clear only the duplicate pending jobs, then send one one-page document from one device. Watch the queue as it runs. If one submitted job becomes two, check the app and official printer settings before reinstalling a driver.

Shared printers

On a print server, another queue or user can release the same document. Ask the administrator to check job history rather than changing shared permissions or spooler files on your own.
