If the printer cannot join the router, check its exact wireless specification, selected SSID and password before changing Windows drivers. A computer cannot discover a printer that never joined the network.
Separate joining from discovery
Read the printer's own network report. A failed connection or missing IP address means the first problem is between the printer and router. If the report shows a valid address but Windows cannot find it, switch to discovery checks instead of repeating setup.
Check the supported network
Confirm the model supports the router's 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band and security mode. Type the password on the printer or official app, paying attention to case. Guest networks and client isolation can block local discovery even when the printer reports internet access.
Try the official path
Use the model's control-panel wizard or manufacturer's installer. Do not reset saved network settings until you know the current SSID, password and any office configuration. After a successful connection report, add the printer in Windows and print a test page.
