Do not assume every wireless printer is limited to 2.4 GHz. The exact model specification decides which bands it can join.
Check the model first
A dual-band router can serve both 2.4 and 5 GHz clients. What matters is the printer's supported radio and the router's SSID and security settings. Use the official model specification rather than a brand-wide rule.
When the SSID does not appear
Check whether the intended band is enabled, whether the network name is hidden, and whether the router uses a security mode supported by the printer. Keep the printer and computer on a network that allows local device discovery.
After connection
Print a network report and verify the assigned address. If the printer joins Wi-Fi but the computer cannot find it, move to discovery and queue checks instead of repeatedly entering the password.
