Reinstall only after a connection and test-page check shows the driver or queue is likely at fault. Record the existing port and model before removing the working configuration.
Preserve the useful settings
Note whether the printer is USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet or shared from another PC. For a TCP/IP queue, record the printer's current address and port type. On a managed computer, get approval before removing a centrally deployed queue.
Remove and add
Open Windows Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners, select the problem queue and remove it if authorized. Use Add device again. Let Windows install a compatible driver, or choose the manufacturer's current exact-model package when additional features are needed.
Verify the result
Print a Windows test page and then the original document. If the test page works but the app fails, troubleshoot that application or document rather than repeating driver removal. If the test page fails, check the queue, port and device display.
