A failed installer can mean the wrong model or OS package, missing permissions, an interrupted connection or an ARM compatibility issue. Read the exact error before repeatedly running the same file.
Check the package
Read the printer's complete label and Windows System → About page. Confirm the operating-system version and processor type, then compare them with the manufacturer's download description. Avoid drivers from file mirrors and similarly named models.
Try a smaller first step
Use Windows Printers & scanners → Add device. If Windows can add and print a test page, the manufacturer package may only be needed for advanced scanning or maintenance features. On a work PC, installation may require administrator approval.
When installation still fails
Record the exact error code, package name and whether the printer is USB or network connected. Use the official maker's installation support page. Do not disable security features or run an unsigned installer as a default fix.
